Well, Ive had my Kiyoseki pro for just over 30 days and just made the second payment. I loved the product up until yesterday when the tempature is continuously jumping all over the place. Too bad I didnt notice it was happening till It burned an entire section of my bangs. Unfortunatly, I didnt read any of these reviews prior to ordering this. After an exstensive process of trying to track down a phone number, there closed for the evening. I will be attempting to call again tomm. Hopefully, they have worked out some of the apparent customer service issues and will be helpful verses stressfull. Stay tuned and wish me luck.

CL****ACTION SUIT

PLEASE DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. Please read the majority of reviews and believe them. I wrote "cl****action suit" to get your attention, but if you think of the hundreds of thousands of dollars (or more) that this company is making from those of us who have been ripped off we would probably have a case and possibly receive our money back. I don't have $150 lying around to go buy another flat iron after this one died. It just sat there and died. Literally one day Right after the 60 day trial period. I didn't drop it, didn't knock it against the wall or abuse it in any way. I bought the extra 2 year warranty, but it is only for replacement (despite what the original salesperson told me). Some reviewers have replaced this flat iron 3 times or more because they keep breaking. The customer service people are nice, but they have to do what the non-existent manager says - follow company policy ("The company is too big for there to be any one person you can write to with your concerns," stated one helpful customer service representative). Please be warned and DON'T buy this straightener.

CHEAP

I purchased this 3 months ago and it just quit working last week. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought it. When I called to have it replaced, I was told to ship it back (at my expense) along with $20.00 for the return shipping. After reading the other bad reviews, I feel lucky not to have burned my hair off even though I had to continually adjust the out of control temperature gauge. I think I'll just cut my losses at this point. Shame on you Carmen Electra for endorsing this piece of junk and for the manufacturers for not refunding our money.

Too good to be true

I ordered the styler, and then came here and read some reviews.. When I first got it, just like everyone else says- it was perfect. My hair looked healthy, it cut my straightening time down to minutes, the whole nine yards. Then the temperature kept changing without me touching it.. so I figured I'd just keep resetting it back to where I needed it, which was very hot in the first place due to the thickness of my hair. However, a few days later in the middle of straightening it, it burnt my hair off, a huge chunk just came right out... The temperature gauge now read "error". Well no crap. Now the straightener will not turn on. Seems getting a replacement will only result in the same thing occurring, so I'm going straight to the money back.

I ordered the K styler after the seeing the convincing advertisemnet on tv. At first the kiyoseki works great! It curls, straightens , its awesome.... but then the paint starts to come off.. I first ordered it 4 months ago and the it stopped working so I got a replacement about 2 months ago. Yesterday the replacement stopped working so now I have to get the third replacement which sux! all of a sudden it stops working! I cant get my money back which sux cuz i want to get the CHI, but I could however order my 3rd kiyoseki replacement which doesnt sound conving at all....... THINK before u buy it.... BEWARE...

I recently bought the kiyoseki in late august. Worked GREAT the first few weeks... (hair was shiny, smooth and virtually frizz free...)my mom was using it and as she was closing her hand to straighten, it just broke in half. Luckily, I brought it back to where I got it (Ulta). I got a new one and again, 3 weeks later..OMG!!! The temperature setting kept going crazy without me touching the buttons...getting hotter and cooler...so i kept hitting it back to where my setting was. I did a section of my hair and all of a sudden, my hair melted and broke, the straightener turned off and died!! I was pulling CLUMPS and CLUMPS out of my head!!! You could have made a wig with the amount of hair that came out. Thankfully, it is the underneath part of my head, so you cannot notice...the smell of burnt hair lasted all day. I wish I would have read all these reviews before I bought it.

I ordered it after seeing the infomercial. Did not straighten, shine, or curl any better than my wal-mart Andis high heat flat iron. It's not worth the money. Also, the paint starting coming off after just one use. Sent it back ASAP.

Kiyoseki 3 in 1 Styler

I received my Kiyoseki a couple days ago and used it for the first time. I really didn't notice a difference with the Kiyoseki and my other flat irons, which are all under $50. It doesn't curl, or flip, and the ergonomic grip isn't ergonomic at all. I kept accidently turning up the heat with my hand while ironing my hair and it sort of sizzled. The cord is way too long and I almost dropped it several times. I will be sending this back and buying a salon grade flat iron for less than this one costs. I wasn't inpressed...

WARNING

Please beware. After just two months of regular use, it MELTED my daughters hair off. I have never seen anything like that. Hours later I am still shaking. We were so lucky that it was the hair by the ear that can be somewhat hidden. Had it been any top portion of hair it would be much worse. At first I thought my daughter had gotten something in her hair, maybe toothpaste, that it reacted to. When the unit shot down completely and will not turn on at all. I have been offered a replacement or a credit, but I can't image every trusting this product again. It was too horrific. I will be taking pictures for proof.

Still Working

I've had the k-styler (silver) for over three months now and it is still working just fine. My hair is naturally wavy/curly. I used to use the chi iron (original black), which I absolutely loved, until it finally fell apart from me dropping it so much (took over two years of abuse). I ordered the valentine special chi (red with gold hearts), but found it didn't seem to do as well as the first. So, after seeing advertisements for the k-styler, I went ahead and ordered the silver version. I held on to my chi in case I didn't like the k-styler. I used it immediately and ended up giving my sister the chi. It seemed like my hair still held some volume after using the k-styler unlike the chi, which seemed to make my hair totally flat. The control buttons take some getting used to, but other than that, the iron keeps my hair straight, even in humidity, and even seems to take less time to straighten than my old chi iron. My only concern is I've recently had bangs cut into my hair, and have really noticed that the ends are looking damaged and am losing more hair in the shower and when I fix it. I now use semi-permanent color on my hair, which I didn't use to, and am not sure if this is from heat damage, or just from the color. I use thermal shampoo, conditioner, and spray, as well as bio-silk. If and when I order another flat iron, It will be another original chi, because of the concern with durability of the k-styler, the control buttons and the question of potential damage caused by the iron (yes, I tried lower settings, but then it does not straighten my hair).

It made my hair look great. However, it started smoking and quit. Oh, my hair was smoking. No, I did not have it on the highest heat. I wish the heat setting had a lock on it. It is very difficult to keep your hands from resetting the heat temperature. From reading the reviews, I discovered that I will have to pay a return fee. Bah-humbug. I would not advise the purchase of this product.

I was very hopeful when I ordered this. I have long, VERY curly multiethnic hair. It takes several passes to make the hair straight, doesn't detangle well, the 1" barrel is too narrow and makes the straightening process more time consuming. I only straightened half of my hair and gave up. My hair also smelled burnt for a long time. I've sent it back.

Sounds like the product needs more work done. The creators should take the advice of the one who said it's made to work in Japan, and fix it so it lasts a lifetime in the States. Then I might buy.

I like it

I like it so far. I've had it for 3 weeks and so far it's worked well, nothing broken and no burned hair. I have very, very fine thin hair that frizzes and curls in the slightest humidity, which in San Francisco fog means as soon as I step out the door. I waited for the bus for 10 minutes w/o a hat and my hair did fine with the KStyler, even the tiny wispy hairs in front. The fog is temporarily gone, so I havnen't used it in a couple of days and I'm amazed that my hair still looks shiny (i.e. it wasn't damaged by the heat of the iron). I think so far it's a good product.
