I had a Corioliss for 3 weeks, never been used and when i took it out of the box, i held it at the cord and the top of the tong snapped. I bought it Carlton Hair International and the brand supplier as well as the store and none of them can reimburse, refund or replace this item!!!

I'm asking for advice before I purchase an iron. I've tried the chi, fhi, infra shine - all which pulled my hair & didn't straighten it very well. I also tried Paul Mitchell but the plates were too big. On one site I read 1 1/4 was a good size, so that's what I'd like to buy. I'm debating between the Solia ceramic 1 1/4 inch, the BaByliss Pro nano 1 1/4 inch with extra long plates. I'm asking if any of these 2 compare to the ones I've tried above. My hair is hard to straighten & is very frizzy, breaks easily. I have read review after review & am so confused. I just want to buy the right iron this time. Please help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Sedu's patented technique guarantees smooth straightening motion without pulling or breaking of hair, really helpful for frizzy and easy-break hair. I suggest Sedu Pro Ionic Ceramic Tourmaline Flat Iron (1 1/2").

suzy's Reply:
unfortunaley you will need agood trim and deep condition to get rid of all the frizzy burnt ends, then let your have a break from any colouring etc. until you get it back in condition.xx

I can't afford most of these modern day straightening techniques. In the 80's, I had my hair straightened for 7 years by simply having my beautician put perm solution through my hair, and she simply combed it straight every minute or so for about 45 minutes, wash, neutralize, done! I had this done about every 4 to 6 months. My hair never felt or looked damaged, just perfectly straight and shiny. Now it seems no one wants to do this because of all the hype about these really expensive Japanese or Coppolla techniques. It seems now beauticians are reluctant to straighten hair this way, but I've been reading some pretty scary stuff about the Japanese method wreaking terrible damage to hair. The only difference I can see is perm solution combed through my hair will cost me about $45.00 or $60.00 bucks and the new fangled techniques cost around $400 or $800 bucks, and still need to be retouched for new growth.

The modern straightening techniques improve the hair's feel, softness and shine better, more manageable, definitely! ^^

Ratna Sharma's Reply:
I got my hair straightened in Dec 2006, absolutely loved it. No hair damage no hair falling, it is permanent but the new hair that grows is your natural hair. 4 inches of my hair is still straight..:) I'm just waiting for another chance to get my hair straightened. I went to china town, for japanese HS but i believe there are some in Queens as well who do it for much less.

how do we use serum before strightening our hair?

Apply a small amount to palms of hands and work through wet hair, blow dry using not too high of a setting, add some heat protection, then flat iron.
