In the 80's, I had my hair straightened for 7 years by simply having my beautician put perm solution through my hair, and she simply combed it straight every minute or so for about 45 minutes, wash, neutralize, done! I had this done about every 4 to 6 months. My hair never felt or looked damaged, just perfectly straight and shiny. Now it seems no one wants to do this because of all the hype about these really expensive Japanese or Coppolla techniques. It seems now beauticians are reluctant to straighten hair this way, but I've been reading some pretty scary stuff about the Japanese method wreaking terrible damage to hair. The only difference I can see is perm solution combed through my hair will cost me about $45.00 or $60.00 bucks and the new fangled techniques cost around $400 or $800 bucks, and still need to be retouched for new growth. viggy's Reply: The modern straightening techniques improve the hair's feel, softness and shine better, more manageable, definitely! ^^ » Do you think it helpful? No hair damage no hair falling, it is permanent but the new hair that grows is your natural hair. 4 inches of my hair is still straight..:) I'm just waiting for another chance to get my hair straightened.
