i have a chi that is no longer working. I have had it alittle over a year.
Is there some place i can send it for repair?
Christina's Reply:
Mine recently died as well, after two years of solid service. You can send it to chi's manufacturer, but after the 1 year warranty, it costs $35 for it to be repaired and another $15 for shipping and handling.

Hi i was wanting to now what th best straightener for me was - i have never owned one before. I have fine straight hair but have recently moved to Texas and it can have very humid hot conditions - my hair is just going fly away!! i was also wanting to curl my hair from time to time but my hair has never held a curl ...
I was looking at the Sedu or the Solia, the Chi sounds good, but is GHD still rated? See? im completely stumped. Please help!!
Jess's Reply:
I have the same exact problem!! Even with my hair holding a curl! When other people curl my hair it works, but if I use curlers it doesn't!
I know the Chi ceramic plate flat iron works well and all day and when a friend used it to curl my hair it stayed in! I don't like down in heat like that though... but when it hits 70 and sometimes lower if I'm exerting too much energy, other straighteners don't work (Remington for example) where Chi does.
I don't know about Sedu... it might be good, has great reviews.
About curling your hair, maybe try a curling iron if you can't figure out how to curl your hair with a flat iron or if it isnt working

i need to buy a straightener for an 12 year old girl.
i have let her use mine and she always complains about burning her hands. what would be a good first straightener for her.
kyra's Reply:
Ugh, some people dont read... LOL. HANDS, not HAIR are getting burned.
Megan, I started straightening my hair when I was 12. I have very coarse very curly hair. Even so, I started with one purchased at walmart. You can get one geared towards young girls there for a lot less than the ones you get at a salon and they dont get quite as hot. Her hair is young and wont need as much heat. Plus, too much heat will damage it and then it will have to be cut... big mess. Just get her a cheapy one for now... then she can upgrade when she gets to high school ;)

megan..itz too young for her to burn her hair and make it look preety, i understand how you feel. all straightners burn your hair, you can use a soothing cream which can help prevent burns..

I dont really know that much about hair straightening. What straightener do you recommend best for thick wavy hair. Also, how does straightening your hair when it is wet hurt your hair, if at all?
cassie's Reply:
i bought a Remington TStudio Teflon Fiber Ceramic Straightener from wal-mart, and it's very good for all types, thick or thin hair. and its not very expensive

I have very thinck wavy hair, and i have a chi, it was pretty expensive... but it works really well and its one of the straighteners that does the least damage to your hair. DO NOT straighten your hair when its still wet, it will fry it, just blow/air dry it all before you straighten it.

I purchased a Corioliss Staightner on Dec. 11,2007 and it has turned an awful yellow color. Nothing has been used on the hair while using the staightner. I would like a replacement, but it seems as though I can't find a phone number on any of the paperwork that was in the box when the straightner was purchased less than 3 months ago.
lily's Reply:
yeah i would get a new straightener, and contact corioliss, to get your money back but i wouldnt get a corioliss straightener again. you should use heat protectant spray, i use TRESemme which works pretty well.

I was viewing the straightener of my dreams in your web site but I was then confused about where could I buy it online (I may also add I need Europe delivery). The specific product was the "Heavy Duty - Proffesional hair Straightener", but I do not find it anywhere else on the net (I think I cannot buy it from this site, is that right?). Thank you in advance for your time and effort. I also give you the exact link: http://www.hairstraightening.net/headut54.html
Sorry, this product was discontinued.

take back to the place you got it from. most likely it will have a warranty, and just tell them the problem that it has and they will give you a new one.

What is the best straightener out there today?
Andrew's Reply:
The best is definitely CHI, GHD, Conair and SEDU are also good choices! It depends on how much you want to pay and how curly your hair is.
