I also bought mine from Winner's for around $35...and for that price it's pretty awesome. I've had mine for almost two years and it still works GREAT (and I use it almost every day). My hair is quite straight already, but this works super well to get it super straight and works well to curl too. Is this helpful? Yes or No

‚h saw this product for the first time at the mall. I was asking for business card and their companies address and phone no before I make a desicion and they lost temper and shouted at me. I told them that it is difficult for me to trust 5 years warranty without any company name or business card. They said this price is 290USD and made in England ( It is difficult to believe it is made in England) and when I was trying to leave they said if I make decision right now they will sell that only with 100USD. They were extreamly pushy and fishy so I was checking on web about them now.. Is this helpful? Yes or No

Tina, yes that is normal for it to turn on and off, when it goes off it means it is done and when it turns red it means it cooled down a little for whatever reason (like use) and is heating up to the desired heat. Is this helpful? Yes or No

I bought my cortex hair straightener about 2 years ago. It worked GREAT. It straightened my hair better than all my friends GHD's and even they agreed with this and it was $150 less. It curled hair perfectly, hense the part where it straightened and curled my hair perfectly. Not even a year after i had it, the bloody thing conked out. It would turn on for like a minute and then would just turn off. So i went back and they replaced it for me, and what do you know 6 months later the bloody thing does the same thing AGAIN. So even though it is a really good straightener dont waste your money. It may work better than a GHD but my friends are probably all laughing at me as their GHD's still work Is this helpful? i just bought it and used it only once so far but am actually thinking of returning the product. it does not straighten my hair easily which is really weird because i have thin hair and i have to go over and over and over with it and it still leaves flyaways!!! my previous straightener i got from conair is GREATT works perfect and i have it for like 5 years now and never had a problem with it plus i payed only like 30 bucks for it. i bougth this piece of junk at the mall around christmas time i kep bugging my mother about it, so she finally bougth it when i took it home the piece of ****!!!!! did not work good. i regret paying $80 for that they gave me a 2 year warranty. and went i went to take it back a couple of weeks later. there was different people working and it wasn't the same name brand it pissed me off they didnt want to take it back. DO NOT BUY FROM MALL STAND THEY ARE SOME S.O.B DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY. my other straightener i had from conair i paid $30 its the best, it does my hair like in 5 min,love it. I used this yesterday, it was terrible. It did not straighten my hair or smooth it out. No matter how many times I would go over the same piece of hair, it just felt like i was frying my hair. The Chi is so much better. I bought the kit that came with the blow dryer and curling iron, I thought id give the curling iron a try and the results were just as bad. I never used the blow dryer and dont care to. The Chi blow dryer is the greatest blow dryer ive used. I only tried this out because they had them for sale at tj maxx for $39.95 for all three in a kit. Im returning it and I do not reccomend it at all. I give it one star,only because im being nice!! I purchased my pink cortex at a booth set up at a mall. The sales rep was extremely pushy and tried the cortex on my hair, and the results seemed great. Originally I had no intentions of purchasing one since I wanted to buy the CHI. The Sales rep kept telling me how the CHI would fry my hair and is a terrible straightener. She went on and on about the benefits and how awesome the cortex was. So, I bought it and was excited to try it out. After using the cortex 3 times, and having terrible results, I tried to return/exchange it and the salesrep refused. She said that they have a no-refund policy and would not help me at all. She was extremely rude too. So now, I'm stuck with this item which I paid $250 for and the heat dosen't work, my hair is NOT straight even after I go over one small piece over and over and over! Like the other lady said: DONT NOT BUY ONE OF THESE A BIG BIG WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!! Is this helpful? Yes or No

i freaking love this!! ive had it for a year and i use it like everyday. i curl my hair all the time and i love how long the curls last. i used to put rollers in my hair and then it would flatten out but this girl did my hair and the curls stayed in for 3 days. i dont know why some peoples burned out. i havent had any problems and my mom and i always use it. i would tell everyone to buy this!! It made my hair really straight and shiny. But that was until it lasted. It conked off about a year and a half after I bought it from a booth in a mall. The red light turns on when I plug it, but it doesn't heat up. This one is not worth the money. NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM A BOOTH IN A MALL!!! Is this helpful? Yes or No

There was a booth set up in the mall and both of my children like straightening their hair. So, i boought them a cortex staraintner it was AWFUL! When YOU USE THE ONE ABOVE (HERS IS PINK) u can here it frying your hair! It just clumps hair togther and the heat dosent work. I bought the warranty and guess what the man in the mall shut down 4 like to weeks until my warranty expired!Then., he refused to take it back. DONT NOT BUY ONE OF THESE A BIG BIG WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!! Is this helpful? Yes or No

i bought one at teh flea market for 45 with no taxes at it has been great! no problems yet. ive had it for 1 year and it is great. it curls and straigthens and does a fantastic job! would recommend to anyone with extremely curly indian hair like mine. Is this helpful? Yes or No

this straightener was good for the first week or so, but then afterwards, it would not heat up enough, it would not straighten my hair or anything. i got the warranty, but a month after purchasing the iron, the thing in the mall closed down, and i could not get a replacement for it. DO NOT BUY IT, it is a waste of money. Is this helpful? Yes or No

I bought two at the mall..one for me and one for my daughter. It works great. I paid 89.00 for each one. I don't know about durability, haven't had it that long. But it does a great job of straightening your hair. I think you can get a better price online or on ebay, but make sure it's the genuine product. Is this helpful? Yes or No
