Ceramic Hair Straightening Irons

How Ceramic Hair Straightening irons Work?

Ceramic hair straightening irons have caused another revolution is straightening. Causing no damage and having great innovative products. Contrary to popular belief, most ceramic hair straightening irons have ceramic coated plates to give a non-stick smooth surface, obviously the more expensive the straightener the thicker and more highly polished the coating. The plates are usually made of aluminium for fast heat transfer. Straightening irons that are sometimes referred to as "solid ceramic plates" are in fact often straighteners with ceramic coated aluminium plates with high performance ceramic elements.

The ceramic heating technology comes from the high performance element, through ceramic coated plates, which can reach as high as 210 degrees C within seconds, and then stay at the exact operating temperature thanks to microprocesser technology. The high operating temperature and non stick ceramic coated plates seal down the cuticle and remove excess moisture, for instant sheen and straightness for professional looking results that can last 2-3 days. The results are also moisture resistant.

There are two distinct types of ceramic hair straightening irons, styling irons and finishing irons. Styling irons can be used to style rough dried hair, saving the need for too much blowdrying. Finishing irons have less performance and are designed to give polish and finish to a blow dryed style, ideal for getting rid of awkward waves, adding shine and finishing the style. They usually heat to bellow 200 degrees.

Most high end ceramic hair straighteners now have temp control from 70-210 degrees so you can select the best temperature for your hair type.

Most popular ceramic hair straightening irons have plates which are about 2-3 cms across. The ceramic-coated plates give a non-stick, smooth and polished straightening result. Ceramic or Infra red elements always stay at their optimum temperature due to micro processor control, for optimum straightening, as well as heating up to their operating temperature in seconds. The non stick ceramic-coated plates, together with a high operating temperature, simply smoothes away curls and frizz.

Unlike conventional straighteners that snag and stick to hair, ceramic hair straightening irons can actually be good for hair! They can seal in moisture and remove the need for excessive use of the hairdryer, plus the results can last for days!
