hi, I am going into my junior year of highschool and for as long as I can remember I have worn my hair up. I have semi-straight hair until just below my ear and then the bottom half of my hair is a big curly/wavy, poofy, frizzy mess! I have considered thermal straightening but I want to know how much it costs and how damaging it is to my hair. my best friend has naturally straight hair and I always get really sad when she waers it down because my hair is too frizzy to wear down. I also sometimes straighten my hair but it takes an hour and it ends up starting to wave within a couple hours after I straighten it. Please help me, and let me know if therml straightening is right for me!

I have gotten my hair permanently straightened twice now at Hair Village in Woodside NY. Both times it came out perfectly straight, healthy and shiny. There was definetly NO damage, my hair was down to my waist when it was straightened. This time I had cut it. It lasted about 6 months before Ineeded to get it re-done. It Cost $200.00 both times. Totally worth it!

Hi, my name is Emily and I am almost 13 years old. I have naturally curly hair that is not very curly at the top but very curly at the bottom. I use a conair to straighten my hair but when i went to school it would just frizz I am thinking of getting my hair permanently straightened as a birthday present, but my mom says it will just frizz and look awful after about a week. I am a little worried about this and also the hair damaging. Can you please e-mail me and answer my questions and if you have already done it can you tell me if it works? Because I really want to know because my birthday is in August. My e-mail is emily1492@hotmail.com. Thanks.

i have really curly hair.. in order for me to keep it from frizzing and puffy, I put so much hairspray and other hair products in it, which causes my hair to be hard. is there anything i can do to get my hair less curly but still have curls?

I got my hair permenently straightened about a year ago. it was one of the most amazing things i have ever done. my hair was wavy/curly/frizzy!!!!
i did have to wash it everyday as it got oily much more quickly. but it allowed me to literally wash and go! no straightening iron, no blow dryer! I'm planning on getting it done again. I'm a fan for life!

Oh and one more thing...there area TONS of questions in here but not many answers so I suggest that you all call your local beauty shop and ask all these pertinent questions! They can tell you all you need to know because they are the professionals. Just my opinion ;-)

My hair used to be unruly and I just bought a home permanent and ran it through my hair (combing it over and over) and voila, I rinsed it out and it was strait as string. Easy stuff and it didnt burn my hair at all.

How long do I have to wait after straightening my permed hair before straightening it again? I used an Olgivie home perm with a wide tooth comb.

I have gotten my hair perminatly straghtened before. It cost 600.00 and took six hours. I had 8 people working on my hair. They all said I Have the curliest, wildest hair they have ever seen(on a white girl) It is completely worth getting your hair perminatly straightened because when I left that place my hair looked amazing! I have had it done again and I went to a different place which only cost 150.00. All I have to say it does damage your hair, and mine turned colors the second time. I had beautiful blonde hair and when I left the salon my hair was bright yellow, like a school bus. Now I have brown hair, my hair never went back to the normal blonde it was.
If you have not colored your hair, even highlights, do it!

Well im 13 male...i straighten my hair twice a week...i use elvive shampoo, elvive conditioner, elvive masque and elvive serum...hahaha i use elvive 4 my hair...but its n0t permanent though...basically itt costs ar0und aud 25..and ar0und aud 80 4 my vidal sassoon hair dryer and straightener...well it doesnt really damage hair if you use them wisely...but if you hve a curly hair you cant wet ur hair or it comes back to normal..and you can also get toni and guy spray that you put before ironing.. Its pr0bably about aud 15...well this is 0nly temporary though...it works quite go0d...and the permanent straightening doesnt really last 4 long coz maybe after 2 m0nths it will go back and you'll hve 2 get wt i said and do it..yes permanent straightening damages ur hair and you might experience some head ache after the treatment...well you can do my advice and it might help you...btw you cant really wash it after atleast 2 days
