Permanent Hair Straightening

Permanent Hair Straightening is a permanent process -- meaning that your hair will stay straight until it is either cut off or permed.

Permanent Hair Straightening Process

The whole straightening process can take between 3-4 hours depending on hair length and type. Essentially it can be broken down into the following steps:

1. Consultation with stylist.

Hair type and condition is assessed. Hair is then shampooed and towel dried.
2. Formula application.

Hair is divided into sections and conditioning formula and protector are applied.
Wait 15-20 minutes depending on hair texture.
  3. Ironing.

A professional flat iron is used to straighten hair in several stages.
4. Application of neutraliser.

Hair is divided into sections and neutraliser is applied. This reset the bonds and stabilise the hair. Wait 10-20 minutes depending on hair texture.
5. Rinsing, Blowdry, Style and finishing touches

Umm, well, I haven't gone in for Permanant Straightning myself coz, my hair ain't that bad. They arn't gr8, but, I can manage. Well, I've gone through a few other sites and if you want my advice, I'd say, DO NOT go in for permanant straightning. Your hair might look good for a certain time...but, then, once the effect goes...you are left with the worst hair ever! And, it costs soooo much! Well, at the end of the day, it's your choice.

i got my hair permenantly straightened three years ago. before it was very very thick, poofy and curly. people asked if i had a black parent because it was so curly.(i have very light blue green eyes and skin) after getting it straightened it was about five inches longer and a lot thinner. it also took away 3/4 of the curl. it only takes me 15-20 minutes in the morning to fix it! i recomend it!

permanently hair straghtening really damages your hair but using plates everyday is even worse. After straightening it wil look good but then you wil have to keep permanently straightening it as after a few months your hair will be even worse than before

What do you have to do before you get it permanently straight?

by anonymous ~&*! from Pennsylvania on Jan 7, 08

I want to permanently straighten my hair. It's really curly, and black. Within 2-3 hours after I take a shower it POOFS out. it's SOO thick...it's not even funny. like seriously it's soo poofy. I straighten my hair almost everyday with my flat iron (chi) but I'm getting tired now because it takes 45 minutes to 1 hour to straighten it because my hair is so thick. I have decided I want to permanently straighten it...will this really work for my hair, without damaging it?

my hair is naturally curly..... REALLY naturally curly. I straighten it every day blow drying it straight then using a heat iron. I know that damages my hair so i thought having my hair permenetly straighted would do the trick, but will it? i want to know which is better for ur hair blow drying and straightning everyday or permently? Also what are some locations and what are the cheapest prices with good results?
