I have curly and puffy hair. After I take a bath I put Mousse in my hair to so what control the poofyness. My hair turns out to have no volume above my ears. Imagine that. So it from the roots on it gets wider and wider. Once my hair dries out I put it into a pony tail. When i take my pony tail out it's a complete mess.Like I said before my hair widens out but when I put the pony tail it leaves a crown. And I don't want to take another bath because that will dry my hair out.

My mom really wants me to get my hair straightened permenently, but I am thinking about the pros and cons about getting it done. I also like the idea of curly hair because every other girl in my cl****has straight hair.So many questions are running through my mind.
1.Will it damage my hair?
2.What will happenen my natural hair grows back?
3.How much will it cost?
4.If I like curly hair, Should I just get my hair permed to long curls (THAT ARE NOT PUFFY)
5.Or should I just get a NEW hair cut?
^ I don't know what kind of hair style I want.Because my mom always does my hair. becuase some stylist just make my hair worst. And also they arent that many hair styles that would work with my type of hair.
IS IT REALLY WORTH IT? OR IS THERE AN EASIER WAY OUT?
HELP! Please comment back.

I have had the Chi straightening system done twice withing the last two years with the last one being just a root touch up. Now as it has grown out, it seems to be frizzy at the temples instead of just curly. Does it somehow damage the root system? I don't ever remember my hair being frizzy before, just wavy. It has about 5-6 inches of grow out but when I blow it dry it really frizzes and i have to flat iron it to have it look decent. Will this ever go away with conditioning or is it permanently frizzed? Won't be doing that again....

I got my hair permanently straighten a month ago.
It's awesome. lol I never have to waste so much time on my hair. Even if it damages your hair, im sure it causes less damage than you trying to straight your hair everyday. I got my hair done in another country so it only costed about 20 USD AND my hair is long, about an inch higher than my belly button. They told me it's gonna stay straight. But new hair that grows out will be natural.
I have a problem though. I wanted to do my hair like curl it but im afraid it's gonna make my hair wavy like before so any advice?

Salons near my home are asking for $325, that too for my shoulder length hair. Does anybody know a good permanent hair straightening place near Billerica/ Woburn, etc who do a good job, at a good price?

My hair is like curly but, i really want to permentaly straighten my hair but, after reading these comments i think its better just to use anti-frizz serums and heat protection spray and using flat irons instead of damaging my hair and losing the bounce and curls of it. I do really want that scene look but, i don't want to damage my hair and have it worse than before and besides, sometimes i need curly hair and all my friends get jealous cuz they only have wavy hair!

i have curly, short and dry hair. i straighten my hair twice a week, but it doesn't work well. so now i am thinking about permenent straightining also i want to do it in a hair salon. i want to know how much it cost, how long it will stay, does it damage my hair, and it has any side effect.

I've been a hairstylist for 9 years, Now i work out of my home.. down here in houston we have bad humidity and most of my clients get their japanese staighting done by me. i actually do my own hair too cause i am Puerto Rican, and have some curly frizzy hair. typically it does cost over 600.00$ I charge 250$ but its so worth it! You only have to retouch the roots about 1-2 times a year and it should damage your hair, but every stylist has their own way of doing things, and so therefore there can be many reasons why a straighting whent bad! I do recommend it.. just make sure its done by a proffesional and that its not the kind that washes away! good luck ladys!

Everyone is saying that they have to get it redone, but is that because it wares out or Grows out??
I would also like to know which brand is the best and is there a big difference between the different brands.

by Another one... from NOYB on Jul 22, 2009

I have the same problem as most of you... hair straightening's become an obsession, can't swim cause i work too hard on my hair, take forever to straighten again. i wanna get a permanent straightening, but prices are too high. ughhh
