I've had this straightener for about 5 years and it has worked great the entire time. As long as you work from the root to tip and slowly pull downward, you do not have to go over any section of hair more than once. I would advise to comb through your hair prior to using this product for best results.

IT CHANGED MY LIFE

I have had my Maxiglide for about 3 years now. From the first time I used it I fell in love with it. I have very long, frizzy hair. I was getting my hair pressed but I had a bout with alopecia and had to stop pressing it. I went for a couple of years with frizzed hair until I saw the Maxiglide infomercial. I ordered it and it has changed my life My hair looks shiny and straight with lots of body. I am sorry some people have not had success with it but if you use it according to the directions I think it will work perfectly. Don’t press when pulling the hair through, just let it glide. And don’t use large chuncks of hair. Do it in small strips starting from the nape of the neck and work your way forward. I can do my hair in record time now. I will rush to get another one when this one goes out. I have to admit that after a few days, if it is humid my hair will get a little poofy but nothing as bad as not having this wonderful tool!

I have thick curly, kinky type 4b hair and the maxiglide does exactly what it said it will do. I love the fact that I do not have to blow dry my hair straight to flat iron my hair. You MUST detangle your hair, per the instructions in order NOT to have any problems with the product.

MAXIGLIDE REVIEW

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY MAXIGLIDE...I CAN'T BELIEVE ANYONE WOULD COMPLAIN, UNLESS THEY ARE NOT QUITE INTELLIGENT ENOUGH TO USE IT! I RECOMMEND USING ONLY DISTILLED/FILTERED WATER, SO THE MINERALS DON'T CLOG THE STEAM VENTS. YOU MUST ALSO HOLD IT CLOSED GENTLY, OTHERWISE YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO MOVE IT. I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE NAMED IT SOMETHING ELSE THOUGH, IT SOUNDS LIKE IT SHOULD BE THE ANME OF A TAMPON OR A PERSONAL VIBRATOR! I GIVE MAXIGLIDE AN OUTSTANDING REVIEW!!!! I LOVE IT!!

been using maxiglide for 2 yrs now and its doing its job.but i recommend u should use it with heath tamer or make sure u use some kind of cream to protect it from the heath. otherwise it will brake your hair.i learn the hard way.

Straightening the hair for my daughter is effortless and easy. She has beautiful thick curly hair and it takes me 1/2 hour to achieve salon straightening.

I have thick curly frizzy hair and I have been straightening my hair for over 18 years and this MAXIglideXP was not a good idea. I really tried to make it work but it pulls and breaks your hair… it doesn’t work like it the TV Shows. It’s hard to handle and it is heavy. It is a real torture. Save your money. Don’t buy this.

14 yr old daughter's hair is VERY frizzy and curly. this straightener worked very well, better than my Chi that I own.the steam is great. the softer i held it closed, the better it worked. the more i used it the faster it was to do her hair. it is a bit heavy, only draw back.

I went to New Orleans this past month and its very humid down there. My friend T's hair went crazy. My friend K had the maxiglide, I used the maxiglide on T's hair and it was so smooth, silky, and bouncy. She loooved the results. She couldn't stop shaking her hair. Ive used a professional ceramic stove and flat iron for years and this did a better job. It does not pull your hair out if you don't clamp down too tight. Ladies, if you want sleek, straight hair, get this product!!

: i have extremely curly hair. very frizzy, and the maxi glide does do its job, however, i have to still blow dry it before using it and afterwards i have to flat iron it. So there is still multiple steps since the maxi doesnt straighten it completely

when I first bought this product it worked AMAZING! i have very thick, curly, poofy, and dull hair and after i used it after one time my hair was siky smooth and straight. The best part is i play sports and when I put it up in a pony tail and then take it down, its till straight! Although i have a complain about it. After two years its not working its best. My hair will be straight for about 3 seconds and then poof, and my blue light also went out. It doesn't work as well as it use to but its still okay. I'm buying a new one though, but overall the first year, the product was worth its money. Even though my room would smell like burnt hair its okay. BUY IT!

I used to like the straightener when i first got it. I thought it was the bet thing and that it made a lot of sense (using the comb things) I have very thick and wavy hair and it pulled so much of my hair out. It also caused lots of split ends and took a while to heat up. It also never stayed straight, i would have to straighten my hair multiple times a day and still wouldn't be happy with it. My hair stylist said that my hair was being severly damaged by the straightener and that i should get a new one. I got the FHI pink edition and i LOVE IT!!! it is a little more expensive, but worth every penny!!! My hair stayed straight all through the night and all through the day (even in a little bit of rain!) Don't waste ur money on the maxiglide!

I'm a professional hair stylist and I just bought the Maxiglaide hair straightener a month ago. I read the other reviews on this straightener and decided to use it without the combs. My hair was a lot straighter and there was less poof. Hope this was helpful for some people.

For the people's who's fell apart- you must have been really hard on it. I've had mine for 4 years and haven't exactly babied it and it works just as good as the day I ordered it. It's been tossed into cabinets, dropped a couple times, etc. It takes a little getting used to (as we're programmed to pull and squeeze down hard on an iron) but it really does work great once you get the hang of it. It's a little bulky, but it does what it says it does if you use it the way they instruct you too, so I don't care. I plan to repurchase when the time comes.

I bought this from a home shopping network and sending it back today. It broke where the electrical joins to the iron. It is very bulky to use and my hair did not stay straightned. If I sweat or if it was humid, my hair frizzed big time.
Save your money!

This straightner is hard to clean, it rips your hair even if you comb through it. Plus it just causes more and more split ends... I would NOT recomend this product.

i've had this for several years now and i love it. it does a great job straightening my course frizzy hair. for the people who say it pulls your hair out: if you clamp it down tightly it will pull some hair out BUT that is NOT the way you're supposed to use it. if you follow the directions you are supposed to loosely close it and let it GLIDE thru your hair (hence the name)

This thing rocks! I have a few friends that borrowed this thing and now have their own. I have long thick corse wavey hair. As long as your hair is pretty dry, put some smoothing serum on hair and do half at a time. It's the quickest way for me to get out of the house with doing my hair. The people that complain it ripped their hair out did not use it propperly. With long hair you must straighten the bottom half first then run over the whole strand. If you have short hair you will not need two strokes. My hair frizzes like crazy and this has been my best bet yet!! Get it!

This is a wonderful product, I have had my iron for over 4 years and it works just as well as it did when I first purchased it. My daughter moved out and took it with her, and we were sharing but, I need my own I have 3 little African American girls with thick, curly and fine hair. All I need is my maxiglide...and they look like they just left the salon. Get one you will love it!
