Pros: Advanced Technology, Creates Shine, Heatup Fast, Smoothes Frizz

I have had plenty flat irons and this is the only one that didn't burn my hair. Works like a dream and reduces how often I have to chemically straighten my hair. Had it for over 2 years and the handle broke. Bought a different brand for $70 and was a waste of $. Getting a new Maxiglide. The XP is bulky but it is what I need becuse I have a LOT of hair. Would give it a 4.5 star, if available, because of the broken handle. Should have lasted longer even though the warranty is for 2 years. I have stereotypical Puerto Rican hair.

The Maxiglide steam hair straightener works better than any Chi that I have ever used. I only wish it was durable to last longer. I have been using a Maxiglide for about 4 to 6 years, and my second one is broken. It can be used, but the plate with combs on it slides off when I use it at a certain angle. I suppose I got 2 to 3 years from each Maxiglide. So, that's probably not too bad. I hear Chis last about a year? I'm about to buy my 3rd Maxiglide.

One of the great things about the Maxiglide is that I don't have to have my hair already blown straight. With other straighteners, it seemed that my hair just slid right through with out getting straight; I would just press my hair into whatever wave it already had - just flatter.

The combs in the maxiglide don't rip out my hair either. I was relieved to find a product that would break my hair to pieces.

k, this product should easily have 5 stars but the manufacturing should be better. i'm on my 3rd one. that being said, i have coarse, very curly, frizzy hair and it is so silky smooth when i use the maxiglide. for those that say it doesn't work must not be doing small enough sections. this product is so great that i have stopped blow drying my hair completely. so not only am i getting super strait hair but i'm cutting down on the damage from blowing it strait just to straiten again with the iron. would definitely recommend to anyone who wants silky strait hair FAST.
