Hello, My hair is VERY fine and broken from straightening it so much. I have dyed it before and I am tired of spending a lot of time straightening it. I have been looking into permanently straightening it but I am afraid it will start breaking off more and become very unhealthy. What is your advice?

Hey. I'm 13 years old. I have wavey hair and I want to get it permanently straightened. I really don't like having wavey hair, especially because sometimes it get a little poofy. I've heard that by permanently straightening hair can make your hair fall out. I don't want that to happen so I wanted to make sure if that's true.

HEy i'm 14 and have unmanagable hair. It's naturally curly but i straighten it. I've dyed it once and i was wondering if it will make you go bald if you've dyed it. also how much is it.

I am about to go in and get my hair chemically straightened because i hate my curls. I just dyed my hair by myself. and My friends told me you can't get it done with dyed hair or it will fall off. I really don't want to go balled.(sp)
Is this true?

Personally, I love chemical hair straightening - it leaves my hair soo soft/straight/smooth. I've done it 3 times and its still healthy. I had naturally straight hair, but after tying everyday it up for years it went frizzy and poofy but its in really good condition after I did this. Um, but I think its different for everyone. I did it with a friend and she hated it. Same stylist, same products. I would only recommend this for people with thick wavy/frizzy hair though. By the way, I'm Asian and this did originate from Japan so.. maybe that's why it worked well for me.

when i was younger my hair was ringlets, and very thin. not thick or anything. im in form 2 and i started straightening my hair in standard 3. since then it has turned thick and curly on the bottom and wavy ontop. i now use ghds evry 2-3rd day straightening my hair. im seriously considering getting it chemically done.. i just really wana know if it will effect my hair in the long run? cos im 13 and right now my image is important.

I have had very curly hair and frizzy hair all my life. Its always been a dream to have silky straight hair.I am thinking of getting my hair permanently straighten.Yesterday I had a test done on a section of my hair which went straight. But im scared that it will go frizzy instead of straight. And what happens to the regrowth.

I had a chemical hair straightening 5 nights ago. It cost ALOT- $165!! And I have really short hair. I would rate my hair as mildly curly, even wavy when very short, very thick, coarse ..oh and I color it, too. I wanted to really be happy with the results, but sofar it's a bust. Maybe after all these years, I'm 52, I expect certain results when I go to the trouble of drying my hair to style it. I find the newly straightened stuff just wants to lay plastered to my head. I tried to add mousse tonight and deliberately pull it up and away from my head while drying/styling to see if it helps. It looked like maybe that worked, but I wonder if it'll make it through aleeping on it. I am verrry dissapointed. Lot of money for mediocre results.

cost varies...for instance, i've gotten my daughter's hair done for under $40, but paid as much as $95. since my child is bi-racial, i always go to an african-american stylist with experience (hey mimi!) because her hair is more 'nappy' than curly. it lasts about 3 months, and isn't ever really stick straight unless i use a hot iron on it, but at least she can brush it by herself and not have to go into braids or go days without combing it out. keep the ends maintained, a good cut now and then, and touchup the roots every 3 months or so. and that's cheaper than having your whole head done again too. CONDITION and HIGH PROTEIN hair care products are a MUST. good luck!

I have another question. what do you do after you straighten it? I mean like a few months Like when it grows out am I going to have half a head (the top half) of curly hair and the other (bottom) half a head of straight hair? What if I want to grow it out?

OMG! i have seriously curly hair! they are really small tight locks and i want rid of them for good!!! But im not about to settle for anything. I want to know exactly how this is done, how often does it need to be done, where it can be done, how expensive it would be and how badly does it damage your hair??? I really want this treatment because my curly hair is getting me down in confidence and i always feel like the ugly one in my group of mates with straight hair. Also, boys only ever seem to be attracted to me after hours of straightening. I would really appreciate if you would reply asap. tanks a mill. Sincerely, Desperate curl victim.

I have realy curly hair. I like it sometimes, but only right after I shower. When I do straighten my hair, I have to blow drie it for like 2 hours and than sraighten it. But I'm worried that if I chemically straighten it, will I never get my curls back? I like my hair both ways but they both take forever and I have to get up at like 5 if I have school at 7:50
