i got my hair straightened this summer, and i completely 100% regret it. about 4 or 5 days after i got my hair done, it started falling out in unusually large chunks. about a month after, my hair was so brittle, it started breaking off, so i could no longer brush my hair. i had to cut about 5 inches off so stop the breaking ends and now im stuck with short brittle unhealthy hair. completely unworth it. if you are planning on getting it done, check with a bunch of hair dressers and make sure its what you really want.

hey there. i have had my hair "relaxed" before, and it did next to nothng. a realy waist of money. i have naturally thick curly frizzy hair, and have been wanting to grow my hair out for some time. i am willing to just have it wavey enough to put a flat iron to it, because if i flat iron it now, it goes into a psycho crazy mess of frizz. i just need help! SOMBODY???

i have actually had the treatment done on me numerous times. if it takes u 2 to 3 hours to straighten ur hair w/ a flatiron(like me) this treatment is DEFINATLEY worth it! but if u have mildly curly hair and it really doesnt take u that long, dont do it. the chemicals are way to strong for ur hair! only thick, curly CURLY hair can take it.

Hi I joined the Marine Corps and am leaving this July[2009] and my hair is super curly. I cut it short and now straighten it every day but as soon as any type of moisture hits it it for's up and curls. I won't be able to do straighten my hair every day at boot camp. I don't want to ruin my hair and I've heard this ruins it..so I'm in need of some help! Is this what I should do?

Chemically straightening is SO worth the price and the treacherous 5 hours you have to sit in a chair in a hair salon. I recommend it highly. It didn't do too much damage to my hair. I did it in August and now its January-- still as straight as the day I got it done. Great. Do it with a knowledgeable stylist and you will love the results.
Tip: Make sure the stylish knows what he/she is doing. If not, you could get your hair damaged extremely badly.

Hey !! im 14 years old and ive been straightening my hair for about one and a half years now, with a GHD. i have naturally incredibly curly and frizzy hair which i hate. I've had my hair thinned so it's easy to straighten and looks amazing when i've first straightened it. trouble is, it soon goes really kinky and slightly boof after about half an hour, it looks horrible! i've tried gels, and straightening conditioners but they don't work. PLEASE HELP!!!

I have just read alot of the comments on here, and i cant understand you would do that 2 ur self. I understand that curly/frizzy/thick/unmangable hair is killer ! Because i had the same problem. However ... Y not tame ur locks in a safer cheeper way,, try hot oils to giv ur hair moisture , this should help with the friz . Also use high moisture conditioners .... Another thing , are you straighting it so it fits in with ever changing styles ? Well just to let u no Curls r coming back ! So tame them locks and b u !!!!!!
Lots ov Love Jayde

Heya, I have very thin frizzy hair which I straighten every day. It has left me with loads of split ends, the bottom of my hair is practically white. When I brush my hair, bits off the end snap off so it will never get any longer. And advice people?
