I dyed it about 3 times and wanted to know: IF i get it chemically straightened will it make my hair fall out? hurt my hair? or change the colour of it and will it stop my hair from growing or not let my natural hair colour grow back in? is it ok at my age? plz answer

I am an almost 50 y/o that has fault with curly, frizzy, kinky hair all my life.......wrapped it around juice cans, rollers, wrapped it around my head, then chemically staightened it since I have been 16.........some work, some don't (I just use relaxers by a salon)......my hair is extra fine, uncoarse or porous...(I am caucasion) so the chemicals do not sink in the hair shafts, and every 6 months it is done. The stronger the better straight with volumn which I love......the split ends and hair fallout scare me, but my hair is super thick.
Does ANYONE have any good results for this type of hair??? I do not want it stick straight but want the kinks, ridges, and super frizz GONE.
Please help??????????
Thanks!!!!!

I am 15 years old & have really curly, poofy & frizzy hair, and i used to straighten it almost everyday, but since my mum heard that heat can damage hair, im not even allowed to do that anymore. I was thinking of getting it chemically straightened, but i've seen a few girls at school that had their hair done, and it now looks really dry, almost like hay. Does that happen to everyone who gets their hair chemically done? Also i was wondering, is it possible to take away ONLY the frizz and not my natural curls, as i know thats once its straightened, there no going back.

I'm 12 years old and I have very thick and wavy hair. If i dont blowdry my hair after i get out of the shower and if i go to bed with my hair wet, ill wake up and my hair will be really wavy and I HATE it! I wake up and immeadiatly I have to plug in the straightener. I used to put it on 15. But now I have to put it on 23 for the heat. If i straighten it by taking my time it will take me about an hour and a half to straighten it perfectly but it will be frizzy. Ive heard many different stories about chem. straightening and my mom said she did it and when she was brushing her hair, it came out in handfuls and then i go on line and it says that its better than the straightener. is this true. and would it be good for temporary dyed hair and my age?

I came across this blog while looking for help to IMPROVE my hair now that I have had a chemical straightener. I have had it for about 3 months now and HATE it. I have always had naturally curly hair with no rhyme or reason to the curls. People thought I had a perm. I straightened it all the time with a flat iron, and like many of you, got sick of that. I finally decided to do the chemical straightener and if I could take it back, I would. My hair looks like hay all the time. Even when I dry it, it is still not straight. It is fuzzy and I still have to use my flat iron. So, it's still a lot of work. I also had my hair darkened a few weeks after the chemical straightener and the color faded very quickly. If someone would have warned me, I would have done it anyway b/c I'm hardheaded. Be careful what you wish for. If anyone has any advice as to what I can do to help my hair now while waiting forever for the straightener to grow off, please reply.

My hair is wavey, and down to my shoulders when not straightened and i HATE it. Im only 14 and i have to get up every morning at 6:00am just to straighten it! It takes me about 2 hours to get my hair how i like it, and im quite fussy about my hair. I heave been toying with the idea of chemically straightening my hair for a number of months now, and i have been reserching it alwell. I have a few questions i would like answered about the whole process, The first; How much will cost? The second; Will my hair fall out? (asking this as many reveiws have stories wear people's hair has fallen out, and want to knoow a definate answer, will it or not.) Third; Will it acctually work? and Fourth; Is it advised at such a young age?
If anyone knows the ansers to any of my questions, they would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks =]

I have long very thick and brittle hair, it takes my about an hour and a half to straighten it! but i have gotten my hair chemically straighten a few times! it cost me about $350 but it was worth it my hair was so straight and silky and i don't even have to straighten it after i get out of the shower! after ur 1st time straighten it its cheaper to maintain cuz u can just go into the salon after ur hair has grown a few inches they'll only have to use a lil bit of the product! but make sure u go to someone that knows what their doing or else they can damage ur hair really bad!

I'm 50 yrs old and have always hated my curly hair. I have straighten my hair with at home straightners and still had to spend at the very least 40 min. every morning. I went to a salon for a strand test and it went well....so I did it had it chemically straighten at a salon, It actually is in better condition then when I went in and now I spend 10 min. drying it. I love it and will continue to have it touched up in 6 months or so. I have to tell you it is expensive and a rather long process. The cost was $250.00 and the time about 3hrs. Do I regret the cost not at all it was worth every penny, my only regret is I didn't do it sooner. I love it.

i'm 15, I have very very thick curly hair, that is very dry and brittle, longer than shoulder length, i have not dyed it but i do straighten my bangs everyday and often flat iron all of it. For the loonngestt time i've been planning to get my hair chemically straightened, now i am able too and looking forward to it..but i've heard many negative about it. I've been told my hair will break or fall out because it's so dry, could this happen? I was wondering that if i get it professionally straightened once, how long would it take for roots to grow in? would my curls come back the way they were before, or broken? i asked at a salon how long it would take to do my hair, they said about 5 hours... and 100 dollors an hour.. soooooo expensive.. and if i have to do that twice a year.. im broke! i would appreciate some feeeedback=)
